We’re nearly one month into 2022 and it’s time to start making our event predictions for the year!
If we have learned anything over these past 22 months – it’s that everything is unpredictable. But, nevertheless, let’s predict the unpredictable.
Live Events Make a Return
Instead of ending with the best, we’re starting with the best. Because let’s lead with optimism and enthusiasm. January has been a record setting month for inquiries at Do Good Events and for many of our partners. The events industry is starting to feel the swell of excitement and anticipation as organizations and companies opt to lean into planning their live and hybrid events.
Hybrid
In 2021, we predicted the emergence of hybrid events. While we were not wrong, it is NOW that we are really seeing this come to fruition. Hybrid means something different to everyone. Therefore it’s important to create your own definition of “hybrid” as you talk to your event partners. The best part is this can be as simple or as complex as you would like it!
Health & Safety
As we continue through this pandemic, we are seeing guidelines to now include proof of vaccination or negative test results. We are confident in this trend to remain within the next 60 days, but are cautious to predict much beyond that. The number of COVID cases in the area of your event and the emergence of new variants will play a large role as to whether this becomes a new standard practice of events or a temporary trend.
Mission Focus
For many organizations, they have not gathered in over two years. The first event they are driven not to focus on what they have experienced during the pandemic. Instead, they are getting back to the foundations of who they serve and why they do it. From content on the stage, to driving mission through auction items, our events will strive to put mission first in all areas.
Providing Space to be Together
We have noticed that palpable energy as groups begin to come back together. We all yearn to be in community, to engage face-to-face, and simply talk. So create a little extra time and space in your event for gathering. Perhaps it’s shortening your program to allow more social time or creating quiet spaces where people can create deeper connections in conversation.
