Local 49 connected with Do Good Events in 2021 to begin planning their 1st annual golf tournament to raise money for Homes For Our Troops, an organization that builds and donates specially adapted custom homes nationwide for severely injured post-9/11 Veterans, to enable them to rebuild their lives. After learning about Homes For Our Troops from another local union, Local 49 wanted to create an event to fundraise and create awareness for this incredible organization. 2025 marked the 4th annual Local 49 Golf Classic to Benefit Homes For Our Troops. The golf tournament takes place at Midland Hills Golf Course and features a great swag bag, on-course games with prizes, a trip raffle with two winners and a meaningful program featuring a new vet eachyear who has received a home from Homes For Our Troops. It’s incredible to hear about the impact the organization has had on their lives and well-being. Do Good Events role as the event planner includes all overall event logistics such as graphic design and signage coordination, sponsorship communication and foursome pairings, catering and vendor sourcing. We are honored to be a part of this event.
