5 Creative Ideas for Fall Company Outings

Team outings are great ways to not only show your appreciation for your workforce, but to bring your team together, reduce employee stress, and encourage your employees to build relationships outside the office. Here are five creative ideas for your fall company outing.

  1. Take in the Fall Colors

Minnesota is a beautiful state any time of year, but is especially so in the fall. Plan a picnic at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum or one of the area’s apple orchards. Reserve a paddleboat for a dinner river cruise along the Mississippi or St. Croix Rivers. If you want to get your team out of the Twin Cities for a day, plan an outing at a state park. Most parks have picnic areas available to rent, miles of hiking trails and other attractions and amenities to enjoy.

  1. Volunteer Together

Organizing a volunteer event can get even the most cynical employees onboard with your company outing. Ask for employee input in the planning stages to get ideas on how and where to serve. Decide if your team would rather divide its efforts between several different causes or work together at one big event.

  1. Organize a Downtown Scavenger Hunt

Fall weather is perfect for a stroll (or a Segway ride!). Ask your team to put on their walking shoes and rediscover downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. Organize your employees into small groups and lead them on a scavenger hunt. Have them hit up the major tourist attractions and bring all teams together at the end at a favorite bar or restaurant for refreshments.

  1. Take Them Out to the Ballgame

The Twin Cities is home to some beautiful sports stadiums. Treat your team to a game, great food and drink, and easy entertainment. Hire a coach bus or take the light rail to make getting to the stadium a breeze.

  1. Get on the Water

Minneapolis isn’t called the City of Lakes for nothing. The city and its surrounding suburbs are home to many beautiful lakes and rivers. Plan a group canoe or kayak trip along the Chain of Lakes in Minneapolis, or reserve a couple of pontoon boats to relax on Lake Minnetonka or White Bear Lake. You can even charter a larger boat for a private event that’s all your own.

Fall is a great time for a company outing in Minnesota. Whatever type of outing you choose, you’ll likely need the help of a professional event planner to make the outing a success. For help with venue selection, catering, and day-of logistics, contact Do Good Events today.
